How do we define generative?
In generative narratives, who is the author of narration, and who is the executor? Is there such separation in the related literature? Since generative art has its roots in instruction-based art, there has to be an external agency to execute the instructions. Sol Lewitt's works are being executed by museum workers, or we are providing instructions through coding and the computer becomes the executor. I read Yoko Ono's Acorn today. She gives the instructions, and I become the executor who envisions the scenes.
- Look at the literature about authorship and execution of instruction-based art!
I am thinking of presenting this book within the scope of the Generative and Interactive Narrative course.
